That’s right, today marks the 1 year anniversary of the[artful]abode. Can you believe how quickly time flies? It seems like just yesterday that I decided to take a stab at blogging to share the adventures of our home renovations, as well as to blabber about my dog and decor related things to basically nobody. After one year of blogging, I can safely say that I’ve enjoyed every minute of it and I thank you for joining me in my journey. All of your comments are undoubtedly appreciated – they brighten my day and keep me going, even when I think I can’t blab about my house anymore. Thank you, dear Internet, for not kicking me out of blogland.
In honor of this momentous occasion, I’ve added a new tab to the blog, “Inside the Abode”. I’ve been toying with this idea for a while now, and finally got my act into gear on this snowy weekend. You can now take a virtual tour of our house and get an idea of where we’ve purchased some big ticket items. Hopefully this will help you in your hunt to make your house a home, as well as fulfill your inner peeping Tom by snooping through every room in our house. Enjoy!
We’ve had some good times around these parts this past year. We’ve tackled everything from a kitchen renovation (parts one and two)…
… to many little renovations, like this easy chair makeover.
The biggest buzz on the blog came from nursery that I did for my very pregnant sister and her new baby boy, Henry. I tackled this one weekend, along with the help of my family, and the response was overwhelming. We even scored an appearance on Young House Love that made me feel like an Internet celebrity for a day.
I even strayed away from the house-related posts to bring you monthly Real Simple Roundups (a homage to my fav magazine), a slew of DIY artwork posts, and shared pictures of my beloved pooch, Charlie, and my cute nephews and neices. I also shared something I’m really digging lately: invitations. I gave a peek into the invitations that we made for our wedding two years back, as well as shared some invitations I’ve whipped up for my sister’s baby shower and a friend’s shower.
Overall, it’s been a great year at this here blog and I hope I have it in me to keep going for many more to come. Thank you so much to my wonderful readers (aka my mom) for keeping with me through this year. Here’s to many more!

Happy blogiversary. I’ve enjoyed reading and seeing your projects. Happy wishes for many more!
