Hello, friendly readers. I’m Audrey, a newlywed twenty something, embarking on something totally amazing - home renovation. My husband, Scott, and I have put our creative brains together (me, a commercial interior design and him, a web design/IT guru) to tweak our house to meet our needs. We’re taking it one step at a time -renovating as it fits in our budget- and we’d like you to join our journey. :) We’ll share any tips we learn along the way and share any other home decor finds we happen to fall in love with. And we’ll share pictures of our dog, Charlie. Because, internet, you’ll learn to love him.
We have been doing some painting in our home using Mt. Vernon colors. Finished the sitting room in time for Christmas. I have the wall color for the main hall and up the stairs, but I am at a loss for the master bathroom. What would you suggest–as in yellow, blue, green, etc?
For a bedroom, I would definitely recommend a blue or a green – something calming. We painted our guest bedroom a bright yellow and I’m considering changing it – it’s pretty bright! I have a great blue that we used in our bedroom. I’ll have to find the color name and send it to you!

I L-O-V-E your website. I didn’t really know you had one until a few months ago. I spent probably an hour going back and catching up on old posts-lol. I really dig your taste and Real Simple is my favorite magazine…ever! This blog has totally made me want to start my own since David and I are on DYI house makeover as well and I’d love to share my blood sweat and tears-and maybe just some fun ideas. You’ve inspired me…now I just have to get some drive and some sleep (newborns kick your butt on that!) and I’ll maybe start my own blog. Anyway…awesome job-love it.
