This weekend was my 25th birthday. The big 2-5. Quarter of a century. The beginning of my mid twenties. The beginning of the end, as I like to call it (just kidding). It was quite the birthday this year, since my two bestest friends came in from opposite sides of the country to spend it with me. I can’t express how incredibly fortunate I feel to have these two ladies in my life (as well as all of my other friends/family and my husband). Reny put it nicely while she was here – “it feels like I’m home when I’m with you guys”. That statement rings so true with my friends. We’re so comfortable and relaxed with eachother that it doesn’t seem like a day has gone by since we’ve seen eachother last. The minute one stepped off a plane or climbed out of her car, we fell back into our same routine, just like we lived in the same city.
I love that. :)
My best buds and Scott pitched in their hard earned dolla to buy me a 50mm 1.8 lens for my beloved Nikon D40. I’m in lurve. Seriously. I’m not completely confident with how to use the lense to the best of it’s abilities quite yet, but just getting to experiment and have another option for my camera puts a smile on my face. One day, internet, I’ll be a photographic genius and you will all be knocked out of your chair by my stunning images… or something like that.
My lovely husband also got me a keyboard for my 25th so we can lay down some sick tracks (he plays guitar), or try our hand at duplicating some Jack Johnson tunes (which we did tonight!). It was so nice to have a birthday that was totally dedicated to my creativity – something that I’ve been missing so much these past few years. Thank you everyone for the birthday love and wishes. It was a great one!
