Today Scott and I ran our first 5k race. Yes, you heard that right. Don’t go rush to the bathroom to get some q-tips to clean out your ears. We actually ran…. in a race… at 8:00am… in the rain. Whoo! We both finished at times that were quicker than we thought we were capable of, so we’re pretty pleased with your fit little selves this afternoon. Our friends Jen and Anthony made very respectable showings as well (beating the pants off of us), but the prize for the day goes to Antho’s little brother, who ran the race in 17 minutes. He was 4th overall in a race consisting of about 900 peeps. Holy potatoes! If I ran 3 miles in anything under 20 minutes, I would certainly be doing a happy dance for a few days.
The rain prevented me from pulling out my fancy schmancy camera, so unfortunately our first competitive running experience was not photographically documented. But since all posts are better with a picture, enjoy this snapshot of Charlie after his first grooming experience – this Valentine’s Day was a day of firsts! Doesn’t he look dandy with his little pink handkerchief?
Man, with the squating to pee and the pink accessories, Charlie really is turning into a sissy. I’m sure his papa Scott is so proud. :P Happy love day, everyone!
