After my first bunch of $3.00 flowers from the grocery store brightened up my kitchen so well, I decided to instill the practice of putting fresh buds in my house at least once a month. It’s amazing how much a 3 dollar purchase can spruce up an otherwise sparse china cabinet.
My flowers this month actually hail from Trader Joe’s and I paid a whopping $5 for the bunch. Why the extra 2 buckaroos? Well, Trader Joe’s flower pods are actually twice the size, so really it’s a steal. I popped some of these into a chic, square vase, hailing from Crate and Barrel, and the rest in a wedding gift vase that’s perched on my kitchen table.
The best thing about cut flowers in a vase? They’re bound to die at some point, so I don’t need to worry about my black thumb overtaking the lives of these poor flowers. Score! I basically pop them in a vase and enjoy them for a few weeks, maintenance free. If 5 bucks is all it takes to bring a pop of color into the abode, call me game.
