Can I get a whoop whoop for springtime finally being here? Sure, it’s been rainy and wet for most of the time, but those rain clouds have really sprung my plants into action. Check out the new kiddos!
My geraniums out front are STILL alive, thank you very much. That red pop of color really brightens up our pale yellow facade. Yum.
Our lovely, lone daylily recently popped it’s head up to say hello…
As did our sweet smelling gardenia (another loner). I’m not sure where these guys came from, but their yummy scents certainly make them welcome in our backyard.
And check out our hydrangeas that we recently planted at the side of the house. They’re practically bursting at the seams! I can’t wait for these suckers to explode into an orgy of flowers so I can chop them off and display them all around the house. Sounds pretty morbid, eh?
Our confederate jasmine has come back from the dead and started climbing its way up the deck posts. Nothing better than rain and warm weather to revive this beauty and add some color to our deck (another project that definitely needs to be tackled – add it to the list, internet!). And what else is growing by leaps and bounds this spring, you ask?
Why, it’s Charlie’s amazing tongue. The hotter it gets outside, the longer that thing becomes. Just wait until summer rolls around – he’ll be mopping the kitchen floor with that thing. Any exciting new spring buds that have your heart aflutter? Any idea why they call confederate jasmine such? Did it forge ahead in a battle against the north or spring forth from a musket?
